It has been almost 40 years since an Amtrak train stopped at or rolled past the L&N Depot.

The last train to depart the historic depot was in 1979. In a lot of ways, we miss having a train service such as Amtrak stopping in our city. Just think how convenient it would be to drive to the depot and hop on an Amtrak and start traveling across country. For those old enough to remember, it had to be a really neat experience.
